Bache-licks!!

While reality television can be watched from anywhere, there is nothing that could recreate the experience of watching America’s favorite TV show with a group of intelligent, inquisitive students. Every Monday at 8 pm, students congregate in the Winthrop Courtyard to watch the Bachelorette. With ice cream or other snacks in hand, fellows cheer, jeer, and shed tears as contestants progress through the weeks strengthening their relationship with the lead Katie, sharing heartfelt stories, and developing bromances. Former non-believer in Bachelor Nation Chris can be seen in the bottom corner of this photo, visibly distraught when fan favorite Andrew S. was sent home.

Because the episodes are watched live, students love to go on Twitter and send funny tweets about the show in the Bache-licks GroupMe. There is a shared camaraderie that comes with the event, as students come back each week and sit with those they met the week before to talk about their hopes for that night’s Rose Ceremony.

Differences in opinion on who should be the winner are always discussed respectfully. Regardless of who wins Katie’s heart, these HSURV students have surely earned their own roses this summer!
